Michael Francis Willoughby in Elohgulp

Have you ever wondered what happens to all the soapy glopey water and the sudsy gludsy stuff that gets sucked down the plughole? Where does it all end up? Michael Francis Willoughby and his friend Dirty Duck, are about to find out .

Imagine you arrive at the theatre... waiting for you is a boy in a bathtub with a scrubbing brush and a small yellow duck. Somewhere, in another room, you hear his mum and dad arguing and calling for him to get out of the bath before they pull out the plug and he gets sucked down the plughgole? How ridiculous is that? And then, before you know it, the boy is sucked down the plughole into a ‘substrange’ and ‘underunusual’ world...and you go with him, all the way into Elohgulp where the strangest tale you’ll ever hear will be told...

Elohgulp is a world that exists beneath our own world, at the end of all the plugholes and gully-traps and drains that swallow up all the good and bad and ugly stuff that gets flushed and washed and swept away down our gutters and sinks and bathtubs. Here you will meet the Drits; made of murky, mucky bits and bobs and blobs... and the Assupods; all froth and muddlesuds...and the Gludse; the most terrifying of creatures... made all the more frightening because YOU created it!!!

Michael Francis Willoughby in Elohgulp will take you into a world made from puppetry and music and light and sound, and quite a bit of ‘jumbledygook’ language. It’s a story about unusual friendships, personal courage, environmental responsibility and how the things we fear can be scarier from far away than they are up close.
